AC Cleaning or Repair? Describe the Job Before Booking in Dubai
Choose between planned AC cleaning, fault assessment and installation, then describe the units, symptoms and scope for a Dubai property quote.

“AC service” can mean different jobs. You might want a working unit cleaned, a cooling fault investigated, or an old system replaced. For a Dubai home, villa or office, choosing the right enquiry helps the contractor assess the work before a booking is agreed.
You do not need to diagnose the equipment yourself. Describe the result you want and what you have observed. This guide explains how to separate those requests and compare the scope offered.
Start with the job, not a guessed replacement part
- Planned cleaning: the system is operating and you want specified parts cleaned or serviced. Name the unit and ask which components the offer covers.
- A fault investigation: cooling has changed, water is appearing, or the unit behaves differently. Describe the symptom, where it occurs and when it began. Ask what assessment is included before repair work is authorized.
- Installation or replacement: you need a unit fitted or an existing one removed and replaced. Identify the existing system and access arrangements; have the proposed equipment and installation requirements assessed.
These requests can lead to different work. A cleaning quotation should not be assumed to include finding and repairing every cooling fault, and a repair visit does not automatically include a replacement unit.
Why poor cooling does not identify the cause
A dirty filter can restrict airflow. Daikin's filter maintenance explanation describes that relationship. Its troubleshooting guidance also considers settings, airflow obstructions and other conditions when cooling is poor. A symptom alone therefore does not establish which part needs changing.
For a booking, useful wording is “the bedroom unit runs, but the room no longer cools as it did” rather than “replace the compressor.” If a display shows an error, record the exact code and model. Follow the equipment's own instructions and leave internal electrical, refrigerant and repair work to a qualified professional.
Ask what “cleaning” includes
Filter, coil and duct cleaning describe different parts of a system. A quote that says only “AC cleaning” leaves the boundary unclear. Ask the contractor to identify the parts included, the number of units covered and any access requirements. Do not assume a filter-cleaning visit includes the duct network.
Fix All Dubai's AC maintenance and repair service lists filter, coil and duct cleaning alongside routine servicing, repairs and installation work. The quotation still needs to specify which of those tasks applies to your property. The service list is not a promise that every task is included in one visit.
Give each affected unit its own description
If a property has several units, avoid reporting only “three ACs need service.” Identify each affected room or unit and the work requested. One may need planned cleaning while another has a fault requiring assessment.
- Property type and Dubai location, so coverage and access can be confirmed.
- System type, brand and model where visible without dismantling anything.
- Number of units and which rooms are affected.
- What happens: weak cooling, a visible leak, an unusual display or another observation.
- When it started, whether it is intermittent, and any recent service work you know about.
- Access constraints, building arrangements and who can approve additional work.
A clear photo of the visible label or display can help identify equipment. Do not climb, remove panels or expose wiring to obtain it. If the system serves a managed building, establish who can arrange access and authorize work before booking.
Compare the boundaries of two offers
Suppose one offer says “clean two units” and another says “inspect poor cooling in one room.” Those offers describe different tasks. First ask each provider to address the same request. Then compare what the assessment, cleaning or repair actually includes.
Before agreeing, clarify any assessment or call-out charge, the units and components covered, access responsibilities, and whether materials or replacement parts are included. Ask how additional work will be explained and approved, and what checks will be performed at completion. A scope change should be visible before it becomes an unexpected bill.
For a proposed replacement, ask for the equipment identity and installation scope separately. Do not treat removal, new materials or changes to the existing installation as included unless the written offer says so. Availability, timing and final price must be confirmed for the actual job.
A useful enquiry example
We need AC work at a [home/villa/office] in [Dubai location]. Unit A in [room] needs [planned cleaning / assessment of observed fault]. The brand/model is [if known]. The issue started [when], and recent work was [if known]. There are [number] units involved. Please confirm coverage, assessment charges, included work, access requirements and how any repair or replacement would be quoted before approval.
Use the quote request on Fix All Dubai's AC service page to describe your job. If the property needs several trades, explain the combined requirements through Apartment & Villa Maintenance or contact Fix All Dubai. Keep each task identifiable so its scope can be confirmed.
